AUBURN — The Auburn Community Concert Band, under the direction of Milt Simon, will present its 35th annual holiday concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, at The Dolard and Priscilla Gendron Franco Center, 46 Cedar St.
The 75-minute performance is free and open to the public.
The 42-member concert band is comprised of volunteer musicians from 14 central Maine communities, who range in age from 15 to 91. The group will perform both traditional and contemporary holiday favorites.
As has been the tradition for nearly three decades, those attending the performance will have the opportunity to make a donation to the local branch of the Salvation Army. All money collected this evening will be used to help area residents in need of assistance. For the past four years, audience contributions have averaged more than $1,000 following the performance.
