WILTON — Wilson Stream Properties announces Amy and Eric Ward are the winners of the Entrepreneur Contest for a commercial space in downtown Wilton.
The Wards will receive over $15,000 worth of incentives to start Life’s Perks Coffee Co. at 430 Main St., the location of the former Wilton Hardware Store. The building is approximately 2,500 square feet.
The company will be a one-of-a-kind coffee shop, and serve gourmet coffees, espresso and drip coffee, and lattes.
Simple pastry offerings may vary with seasonality, but the primary line will be muffins, breads, cookies, scones and rolls. All will be supplied daily by a local bakery. Also served will be gelato and nostalgic candies.
Fourteen unique ideas were submitted for the contest, eight of which were picked to move onto developing business plans.
Many area businesses generously donated to create the incentives package.
Members of the advisory board that helped put the contest together and review the business plans included:
• Josh Michaud, Wilson Stream Properties;
• Jeff Chaisson, Wilson Stream Properties;
• Alison Hagerstrom, Greater Franklin Development Council;
• Penny Meservier, Franklin County Chamber of Commerce; and
• Rhonda Irish, town of Wilton.
