BRUNSWICK — A Lewiston man was recovering at a Portland hospital Friday after his car and a dump truck collided head-on the day before.

Jesse Baum, 34, was listed in fair condition at Maine Medical Center.

Brunswick police said Baum was driving north on Old Portland Road just before 4 p.m. Thursday when his Nissan drifted into the oncoming lane, where it was struck by a Kenworth truck driven by Michael Labbe, 58.

Labbe was not hurt in the crash, which closed a section of the road while police investigated.

Brunswick police were continuing to investigate the collision with the assistance of the Maine State Police Commercial Motor Vehicle Division.
