Violinist Aya Wakita is the featured performer at this week’s free Oasis of Music concert, Wednesday 12:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 247 Bates St., Lewiston. Wakita will perform selections from Bach’s partitas for solo violin, along with reels, jigs and waltzes from Ireland, Quebec and beyond, accompanied by Greg Boardman on guitar. Wakita, a native of Japan lives with family in Lewiston and is a student at the University of Southern Maine, where she is majoring in music education and studying violin with Robert L?ehmann. She also is active with the Maine Folque Co-op’s music program, through which she has performed as a member of both Les Bijoux and the Sizzling Shamrocks.
