FARMINGTON — Murdock and Leia are the Pets of the Week at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.
Murdock is the Dog of the Week. The 2- to 3-year-old has been DNA tested to reveal breeding of American Staffordshire Terrier, Greyhound and Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix. He hopes to find a “fur-ever” home with an owner who has lots of time to spend with him.
Hoping not to compete for affection, Murdock will do best in a home without other animals or small children. He is playful, energetic and loving.
The Cat of the Week is Leia, a 1- to 3-year-old long-haired tabby. Leia has beauty and a bit of an attitude, so her future home should be with someone who understands cat moods. Even if Leia isn’t feeling cuddly, she still wants to be marveled.
Leia, Murdock and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays at 550 Industry Rd. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
