LEWISTON — Martin Luther King Jr. Day at Bates College; the college warmly welcomes the public to celebrate King’s legacy. LEWISTON — City Council workshop and meeting, 6 p.m. workshop, and 7 p.m. meeting. Agenda includes adopting the “Legacy Lewiston” comprehensive plan and reconsidering a zone change for a parcel on Webster Street.
AUBURN — L-A Joint Charter Commission meeting, 6 p.m. at Auburn City Hall.
WEDNESDAY, Jan. 18
AUBURN — Auburn School Committee, 7 p.m., Auburn Hall, Council Chambers. Workshop at 6 p.m. to discuss goal-setting and budget review, regular meeting at 7 p.m., on agenda: state testing results.
THURSDAY, Jan. 19
LEWISTON Great Falls Forum featuring former Speaker of the House John Martin of Eagle Lake, noon at the Lewiston Public Library, free. Bring bagged lunch. Martin has been a key player in Maine politics for 50-plus years. He will talk about pivotal points in Maine’s history and political changes over the years.
