AUBURN — Drug agents arrested a local man Monday on a heroin trafficking charge and a local man and a woman on charges of possession.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agency officers and local police helped probation officers find Mandy Chouinard, 28, who hadn’t complied with the terms of her probation, according to a report on MDEA’s Facebook page.
Agents tracked down Chouinard to a single-family home at 1252 Hotel Road belonging to Steven Webster. Also at that residence was Joshua Stevens and Chouinard’s 5-year-old child.
A search of the home by drug agents and local police turned up 60 grams of heroin (600 doses) and 6.6 grams of cocaine, totaling about $12,000 in value. Authorities also found electronic scales and an AR-15 rifle at the home.
The three adults were arrested midafternoon and taken to Androscoggin County Jail.
Chouinard was charged with possession of a scheduled drug (heroin) a Class C crime punishable by up to five years in prison. She also was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a Class D misdemeanor. She was held without bail for probation violation.
Steven Webster, 39, was charged with possession of a scheduled drug (heroin). His bail was set at $2,500 cash.
Joshua Stevens, who was wanted on an outstanding warrant, was charged with trafficking in a scheduled drug (heroin), a Class A felony punishable by up to 30 years in prison. He also was charged with two misdemeanors: possession of a scheduled drug (cocaine) and endangering the welfare of a child. Each of those crimes is punishable by up to 364 days in jail. His bail was set at $10,000 cash.
All three are expected to appear in 8th District Court on Wednesday.
Authorities contacted the Department of Health and Human Services about Chouinard’s 5-year-old child.
