LEWISTON — Police this week were awaiting the results of an autopsy on the body of a 34-year-old woman found in a downtown apartment.

Police said Nichole Nguyen was found dead Sunday morning in her home at 88 Bartlett St. Her boyfriend was inside the apartment when officers arrived, police said.

“Due to the age of the deceased, an autopsy was ordered by the State Medical Examiner,” police Lt. Mark Cornelio said. “At this time, the cause of death is still undetermined and the case is still under investigation.”

According to her Facebook page, Nguyen was the mother of two boys. She most recently worked at Denny’s in Auburn.
