RUMFORD — A Rumford resident was uninjured Friday night in a fire at a two-story home at 121 South Rumford Road.
Sgt. James Bernard of the Rumford Police Department said the fire was called in at 11:07 p.m. by the resident, who was home at the time.
The resident, whose name has not yet been released, was out of the house by the time emergency officials arrived on the scene.
The fire had been knocked down by 2 a.m., and the home sustained no structural damage.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, though no foul play is suspected. Authorities are not yet releasing the resident’s name.
It is unclear at this time whether or not the home was insured.
Fire departments from Rumford, Peru, Dixfield, Mexico and Andover assisted at the scene.
