PORTLAND — UPS recently announced that 11 elite drivers from Maine are among 1,575 newly inducted worldwide into the Circle of Honor.
It’s an honorary organization for UPS drivers who have achieved 25 or more years of accident-free driving. Two of those drivers, Steven Lee of New Gloucester and Fred Coffin Jr. of Waterford, work out of the Auburn hub.
Maine has 41 active Circle of Honor drivers with a combined 1,138 years of accident-free driving. There are 449 total full-time UPS drivers in Maine.
UPS’ 102,000 drivers log more than 3 billion miles a year and deliver nearly 5 billion packages annually.
