Sheri Withers is one of nine artists who will be featured in “The Body Show” at The Hive Art Gallery & Co-Op in downtown Lewiston. Nine mannequins by nine area artists will be on display during the opening reception Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at 178 Lisbon St. Withers said the mannequins that she uses to display T-shirts at the co-op gave her the idea. Withers used oil paint to finish her female piece at right. Paul Poliquin of Paul’s Clothing & Shoe Store on Lisbon Street donated the remaining eight male mannequins. “Paul really loves the involvement of the arts downtown,” Withers said. Julia Muzyka, Kate Gargile, Bonita Kenny, Jennifer Gammon, Courtney MacMunn Schlachter, Leslie Peterson, Robert Russell and Kevin Callahan are the eight other artists who will have mannequins on display during the show. Muzyka’s mannequin is featured at lower left.
