Matt Shaw of Community Credit Union in Auburn empties a box of recycled items that were dropped off during Community Recycle Day in Auburn on Saturday. Shaw and other volunteers from the credit union collected items as people dropped them off. Electronics, tires and papers that needed to be shredded were gathered free of charge during the seventh annual event. Shaw said the collection is always held around Earth Day, which is April 22. “This is one way for us (credit union employees) to give back,” Shaw said.
