LIVERMORE — The Board of Selectpersons voted unanimously Tuesday to place an article on the town meeting warrant to set aside $45,000 for a townwide property revaluation.

The town meeting will be held Wednesday evening, June 14.

The revaluation is required by 2020 and is estimated to cost $130,000. The last one was in 2010, and the state requires they be done every 10 years.

“We’ve got to do the revaluation,” Selectperson Tom Gould said. “It would be smart for the town to either set aside some money or pay down some debt.”

Selectperson Wayne Timberlake said, “If money is set aside for a specific purpose, you need to have it on the town warrant.”

An explanation about raising the same amount in each of the next two years can be included, he said.

Administrative Assistant Amy Byron will draft the article. Town attorney Lee Bragg will be asked to review it before it’s added to the warrant.
