LEWISTON — Sherwood E. Kemp, 58, a resident of Leeds, died, Saturday, May 6, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, following a battle with cancer.
He was born August 30, 1958 in Lewiston, the son of Charles Kemp and Pauline (Smith) Kemp Bragdon. He attended school in Leeds and Leavitt Area High School in Turner. Sherwood worked as a truck driver for Randy Tibbetts, R & S, and Pike Industries. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Sherwood was kind and generous: he was the type of person that would bring someone wood in the middle of an ice storm if they needed it. The joy of his life was his beloved dog, Molly, and he was her joy as well — someday, they will meet again in heaven.
He is survived by his mother, Pauline Bragdon of Leeds; his sisters, Charlene Kemp and companion, Doug White, Elaine Bragdon, Rowena Fletcher, and Arlene Richard and companion, Bill Rines; brothers, Stanwood Kemp and Dennis Kemp and his wife, Judy; many aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors on M-1 at Central Maine Medical Center for all of the care and support during Sherwood’s final days.
Messages of condolence may be sent to www.finleyfuneralhome.com.
Sherwood E. Kemp
