Report on whether former Lewiston Mayor Brann’s municipal coal yard was a financial flivver or broke “even” per statute and claim, will be delayed several days. A certified public accountant, Percy W. Graffam of Portland, started at work in the city treasurer’s office Wednesday to go over the coal accounts. It is understood that T. F. Callahan and Geo. Pottle, who have been inquiring into the condition of the city finances, made a report, but as this did not agree exactly with the report submitted by Mayor Brann as to whether there was a loss, Alderman Saunders engaged the accountant to make a new set or figures. The life of the coal yard depends on whether the yard was run at a loss. It is believed the report can be finished in time for presentation at the meeting Friday.
