Martel Elementary School fourth-grader Griffin Guzman works his shadow puppet as Ian Bannon, director of Figures of Speech Theatre in Freeport, narrates Ashley Bryan’s book “Beautiful Blackbird” at the Lewiston school Tuesday afternoon. The event was one of L/A Arts’ Artists Days in LA. Bryan’s work and that of students will be exhibited in the Atrium Gallery at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College.
