LEWISTON — Dennis R. Bard, 56, of Lewiston, died unexpectedly after arriving at Central Maine Medical Center Tuesday, May 9.
He was born in Lewiston on March 17, 1961 the son of the late Roland and Annette (Oakes) Bard. He graduated from Lewiston High School in the Class of 1980 and attended Central Maine Technical College and graduated as a machinist in 1982.
Dennis worked at Bath Iron Works a few years and in 1984 began his career at General Electric in Auburn, where he had worked for the past 32 years.
Dennis loved the outdoors and was a hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the Androscoggin Fish and Game Association. He enjoyed snowmobiling with his many friends and was a member of the Hillside Family Riders Snowmobile Club. Dennis was also a member of the Turner Timberland ATV Club. He loved to share the outdoors with his three great-nephews, River, Oliver and Wesley Bouchard.
He is survived by three sisters, N. Diane Poirier and husband, Roland, Nancy Bard, and Susan Bard Stanford and husband, Donnie; two nieces, Kristina Bouchard and husband, Christopher, and Nicole Poirier and fiancé, John Muller; nephew, Ryan Poirier; also, his three great-nephews, River, Oliver and Wesley Bouchard.
Family and friends will truly miss him as he was always there for anyone who needed a helping hand.
The family wishes to thank his friends and co-workers at GE, his friends from the snowmobile and ATV clubs who became part of his family.
