MEXICO — A few residents went through the 19-article annual town meeting warrant in 30 minutes at Tuesday night’s public hearing.
The proposed municipal budget of $3.13 million is up $101,269, according to Town Manager Jack Gaudet.
“I feel good about this budget,” he said. “Yes, we’re up, but I think we’re not spending unneeded money.”
Gaudet said insurance is up $40,000 from the 2016-17 budget, and the cost-of-living adjustment totals $49,331.
Selectman Byron Ouellette said the police and fire department budgets will be voted on separately this year, instead of together.
Voters will cast their ballots from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, downstairs in the Town Hall.
