Haz mat teams from Farmington, Wilton and Jay fire departments arrive at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farminton on Friday afternoon to clean up seven people exposed to chemicals.

FARMINGTON — Seven workers at Pallet One in Livermore Falls were taken to the hospital Friday afternoon after they were exposed to red dust.

A Franklin Memorial Hospital spokesperson said one worker came in contact with red dust at the Pallet One on Route 133 in Livermore Falls, and other workers felt ill after the incident. It was reported about 1:45 p.m. Friday

Seven workers were taken to Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington. Before they were medically evaluated and treated, hazmat crews from Farmington, Jay and Wilton were to clean them. Because the chemical exposure, the incident was classified Code Orange.

Farmington Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Clyde Ross went to Pallet One to investigate the red dust.
