CARRABASSETT VALLEY — Kingfield author Annie Twitchell will introduce her debut novella, “Spinner of Secrets,” at a book talk and signing at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, June 15, at the Carrabassett Valley Public Library.
Twitchell says of herself, “I’ve been writing since I was tiny. When I was about 5, I taught myself to write cursive, so I could ‘write pretty.’ ‘Spinner of Secrets’ is my debut novella, which I self-published. That means I did almost all of the process myself, not only the writing.
“I did the editing myself with the help of my mother and an amazing team of beta readers, I had a cover designer do my cover and I hired a proofreader to give it a bit of polish and make sure it was tidy,” she said. “I formatted, proofed, adjusted, proofed again. It took me about three weeks straight before I had the finished product.”
“Spinner of Secrets” is a retelling of the fairy tale Rumpelstiltskin in the young adult genre.
