TURNER — Turner Templeton,  a fun-loving home-grown Maine band, fusing influences of rock n’ roll, blues, country, jazz, folk and bluegrass, will perform at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, at the gazebo as part of the “Music for Mavis” concert series. The concert goes on, rain or shine.

This two-man band from western Maine sounds more like a three- or four-piece band due to the “boom chicka” rhythmic foot-percussion and unique vocals of Tom Stevens as well as the harmonica, finger-picking bass lines and rhythm chords on the baritone guitar. Joe Hodgkins brings a higher, enriching layer of lead and rhythm guitar, with a variety of analog effects, precise playing
and fluid vocals really rounds out the sound and style of Turner Templeton.

In the event of rain, the performance will be held downstairs under the library next to the gazebo.

Though there is no admission to the concert, a hat is passed to help pay the musicians. The suggested donation is $5.

Bring a chair or blanket to sit on.
