OXFORD — An Oxford man was seriously injured early Wednesday morning when he was struck on King Street by a car whose operator was charged with drunken driving, Oxford Police Lt. Mike Ward said.
Anthony St. Our, 28, was taken to Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway with broken bones and a concussion, Ward said.
“He doesn’t remember what happened,” Ward said.
Officer Dan Hastings arrested Kerstin Thorne, 37, of Oxford on a charge of operating under the influence, Ward said. She was taken to the Oxford County Jail in Paris.
According to the report filed by Hastings, Thorne was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee toward Poland about midnight when she struck St. Our on his bike near 250 King St. He was tossed onto the hood of the SUV and landed on the side of the road, according to the report Ward shared.
“He was on a bike and had on a reflective vest,” Ward said.
Oxford Rescue and Pace Ambulance were called to the scene, and Sgt. Rickie Jack assisted Hastings.
