TURNER — The First Universalist Church of Turner Center, has welcomed the Rev. Dr. Albert Boyce as the regular parish speaker. Turner and surrounding communities may welcome Boyce following worship on Sunday, June, 18, at 450 Turner Center Road.

Boyce began his ministry some years ago, serving Assemblies of God and Baptist parishes located in New England.

Following additional education at Harvard University’s Divinity School, Boyce transferred his credentials to the Unitarian Universalist Association and served parishes in Vermont, Florida, New Jersey, and Georgia.

Stepping away from full-time parish work, Boyce returned to graduate school, earning an MA in psychology/counseling and a PhD in psychology, which opened doors for him to serve in the mental health and social justice arena, and teach at the university level.

While serving as chaplain for Volunteers of America and Androscoggin Health Care and Hospice, Boyce said he embraces the opportunity to serve this historical parish and be the voice of compassion for all people, and love of God, which the Unitarian Universalist faith has espoused since the formation of the nation.

Boyce lives in Vassalboro with his husband, Andrew, and dog, Luc, where they can be found entertaining local clergy, neighbors, friends, and family, especially their children and grandchildren.
