I am opposed to the merger of Lewiston and Auburn. There are simply too many unanswered questions.

I am completely comfortable with Lewiston — the city in which I have resided most of my life. I feel it is completely unfair to be dragged into a whole new municipality, against my will, by a small elite group that thinks it is a good idea. I do not share its view and do not feel I should be forced to go along with its plan.

Who are they to say which city I should be allowed to live in?

I will vote against the merger referendum in November.

The Joint Charter Commission talks a lot about people leaving the Lewiston-Auburn areas. A merger would be one more reason for the public to leave.

Not everyone is on board with this travesty.
