LEWISTON — Guy E. Giguere, 81, of Lewiston, passed away Thursday, July 20, of a short illness at St Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Guy was born July 24, 1935, in Clayton Lake and was the son of Joseph and Jeanne Giguere. On June 18, 1955, he married the love of his life, Jacqueline Marquis, and they were married for 62 years. He attended Auburn schools and worked at various maintenance jobs, including Central Maine Medical Center and New Beginnings. Guy was an avid golfer and enjoyed spending time with his buddy, Roland Beaulieu, on the golf course and playing cards with family and friends.

Guy is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Giguere, of Lewiston; his son, John Giguere, also of Lewiston; his daughter, Renee Castonguay, and her husband, Gary, of Sabattus; his grandsons, Michael Houghton of Lewiston and Hunter Castonguay of Sabattus; his granddaughters, Jennifer and Kristina Giguere of Lisbon, and Ashley Gagnon and her husband, Kevin, of Lewiston; as well as several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Gabriel Giguere and his wife, Cecile, of Lewiston; his brother, Joseph (Andy) Giguere, also of Lewiston; and a sister, Theresa Borowski of Auburn.

Guy is predeceased by his daughter, Mary Ann Giguere Fontaine; his parents; brothers, Jean-Paul and Marcel; and sisters, Rita and Charlotte.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, especially Jamie Lewis, for the great care she provided him and the family.
