FARMINGTON — Police say a Connecticut man who was arrested early Monday for entering a locked apartment without permission and getting into a physical confrontation with one of the occupants was arrested again Monday evening.
Colin V. Phillips, 40, of Roxbury, Connecticut, was arrested at about 6 p.m. when he went back to Perham Street and was seen next door to the address where the earlier confrontation took place.
He had also been drinking. Bail conditions prohibited him from having alcohol, said Deputy Police Chief Shane Cote of the Farmington Police Department.
Police arrested Phillips on a charge of violation of conditions of release and took him to Franklin County Detention Center where he remained Tuesday.
Phillips was released on $5,000 bail, but because he violated his bail conditions he will have to go before a judge before he can be released. He is expected to go to court Wednesday, according to a corrections officer.
Phillips was initially arrested on felony charges of burglary and assault with a dangerous weapon. Police said he entered an apartment at 134 Perham St. at about 1 a.m. Monday morning.
Police said he was carrying a 4- to 5-foot walking stick and got into a physical confrontation. He was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Franklin Memorial Hospital to be medically cleared to be taken to the Franklin County Detention Center.
