AUBURN — Nina Marie Carlow, 53, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
She was born Sept. 6, 1963, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y., the daughter of Arthur and Jeannette (Bolduc) DiDonna. She was educated in the Galway, New York, School Department until her family moved to Maine and finished her education here.
Nina met her husband, Lynn Carlow, in January 1980, and they were married on Dec. 5, 1981.
She was a wonderful wife and mother. Their daughter, Cassandra Elizabeth Carlow, was born May 25, 1990, and they had an instant bond ever since.
She went to travel school and worked for Eastern Airlines until 1989, and then became a claims adjuster for Bath Iron Works until 1995 when she became disabled with illness.
Nina started and ran a charity called Big Impressions, which made necklaces for mothers who had lost children all over the world — all while still being a wonderful wife and mother.
She had a great sense of humor and was the first to start laughing. She enjoyed gardening, taking care of her dogs, and that walk to Kitty Korner Store for penny candy during the first snowfall every year with family. She loved all kinds of music and especially loved get togethers with her family and friends. She loved to play her tablet games, Dragonvale and Age of Pyramids.
Survivors include her parents, Arthur and Jeannette DiDonna of Lisbon Falls; her husband, Lynn Carlow of Lisbon Falls; her daughter, Cassandra Mitchell and husband, Curt, of Brunswick; her sister, Polly Fontaine of Auburn; her brothers, Daniel DiDonna and wife, Tina, of Bath, and Christopher DiDonna and wife, Donna, of Niagra Falls, N.Y.; and numerous special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She will be missed by many.
