NORWAY — Local artist Rei Cortez is displaying his work at the Main Street Gallery, 426 Main St., this month.

The Western Maine Art Group’s artist of the month, he presents photographs with the spirit of haiku and refers to them as Eyeku. The evocative images invite the viewer to open to possibilities beyond the bounds of what is before them. 

Photographing mostly in Buckfield, sometimes in North Italy or wherever the images arrive, he approaches the world with a tactile sensibility.

The Main Street Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday at no charge.
