LEWISTON — The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast club recently received a grant from the Rotary International Foundation to benefit the High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry. The $1,000 District 7790 Grant will be matched with $1,500 of the club’s funds. The funds will be used to stock the pantry with staples.

Lee Upton, coordinator of the food pantry, is a member and past-president of the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Club. Upton has worked tirelessly to provide volunteer opportunities for club members. The relationship between the club and the food pantry has been a great partnership for the last several years. Many club members bring in plastic bags and egg cartons to the weekly meetings that Upton brings to the food pantry to use.

The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry operates every Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., 106 Pleasant St., Auburn. Some members from the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Club volunteer at the pantry on their distribution days. If you are interested in volunteering with the food pantry, please call 784-1306.
