As part of Spirit Week, students at the Buckfield Junior-Senior High School held a bottle drive to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. The students raised $931.26 and the teachers donated, bringing the total to $1,011.26. Margie Bickford, member of the Central and Mid Coast Maine chapter of the American Red Cross, told those gathered at Wednesday’s assembly at the high school that a $1,000 donation will provide food and shelter for a family of four for five days, including three meals a day, cots, blankets and comfort kits. The students presented American Red Cross representatives a check Wednesday.
