I will be voting for Ben Chin for mayor of Lewiston because he has offered specific ideas about how to further improve the city I am already proud to be from.

Chin has suggested cost-effective and sensible ways to help relieve the tax burden on homeowners, such as tax rebates for seniors and exempting single-family homes and duplexes from the “rain tax.” He also has innovative ideas for how to help people struggling to support their families, how to help people suffering from addictions and how to help people with mental illness reintegrate themselves into productive community life.

I agree with him that making Lewiston residents more secure and self-sufficient will have the positive effect on the business community that fiddling with business regulations has never managed to achieve.

Ben Chin’s ideas will benefit Lewiston in ways that can be sustained.
