JAY — The Police Department will collect unused, outdated and unwanted prescription drugs for disposal from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Police Station, Town Manager Shiloh LaFreniere announced in a statement Monday.

The collections are free and ongoing.

A medication disposal day previously announced for Saturday, Oct. 28, at Hannaford has been canceled, LaFreniere said in the news release. 

People may bring prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, veterinary medications, vitamins and homeopathic treatments for disposal.

Not allowed are needles/syringes, electronic equipment or items containing mercury.
