MINOT — The Board of Selectmen voted unanimously Monday night to accept a bid from Pike Industries to pave three roads.

Town Administrator Arlan Saunders sent requests for bids to several companies, and the board chose Pike Industries’ offer of $78.80 a ton.

The three roads are Strawberry Lane, Sunset Drive and Lower Road.

Saunders said the $71,000 available in the paving account might not cover all three of the roads completely, but they can cut back on Lower Road if necessary.

“The other ones are in pretty rough shape, and Strawberry (Lane) has never been surfaced,” Saunders said.

Selectman Eda Tripp said, “The road commissioner and road foreman will do the best they can with the money available.”

In other business, selectmen appointed Ben Piper as an alternate on the Planning Board and Nicole Rancourt as representative on the Auburn Public Library board. They reappointed Timothy Warden to the Budget Committee.

The board voted to renew a five-year contract with the Lewiston-Auburn Water Pollution Control Authority.

Saunders said this is the septic tank agreement the town has had for a long time. Minot is charged $250 a year to dump septic and holding tank waste at the authority’s wastewater treatment facility.
