Elohim Nsumbu, a sixth-grader at Longley Elementary School, demonstrates a canopy test he created as part of the 21st Century after-school program during a community night in the school gymnasium Tuesday. His group is working through a Boston Museum of Science Curriculum, which requires students to write, talk and think like engineers. They are testing canopies and landing surfaces to minimize damage for aid drops in Thailand.
