TOMS RIVER, N.J. — James R. Brown, 87, of the Holiday City Carefree section of Berkeley Township, N.J., died Sunday, Oct. 29, at Community Medical Center, Toms River, N.J. Born in Rumford, he lived in Green Brook and Absecon, N.J., before moving to Holiday City. James was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for Ortho Pharmaceuticals in Flemington as a product packaging developer. He later owned the Washington Deli in Green Brook and then the Clinton Hardware Store in Clinton, N.J. James was a golf fanatic and a past president of the Green Brook Golf Association. He was also a member of the American Legion. Surviving is his loving wife, Eunice, nee Kelly. Son Bill and his wife Elaine of Scarborough, and a daughter Donna O’ Donnell and her husband Robert of Toms River. Nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
