Eating disorders, trauma explored
LEWISTON — How to cope with eating disorders and other problems rooted in trauma will be explored at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, at Lifetree Cafe, 1919 Lisbon Road.
The program, titled “Triumph Over Trauma: One Woman’s Struggle with Anorexia,” features a filmed interview with a victim of anorexia whose eating disorder threatened to end her life.
“The behavior and the addiction are so strong. Breaking that cycle is hell,” the woman featured in the film says. “The recovery was harder than anything I’ve ever had to do, and it meant addressing all the other issues I was facing in my life.”
Participants will have the opportunity to share events or traumas that have impacted their own lives.
Admission to the 60-minute event is free.
