LEWISTON — Fiddle tunes from Québec will be shared by fiddler Jessie Boardman and guitarist Greg Boardman at this week’s Oasis of Music at Trinity Church, Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 12:30 to 1 p.m. The two will present music they have learned from their friends Guy Bouchard and Laura Sadowsky of Québec.  

 

Guy Bouchard is a fiddler and folklorist of long standing in Canada. An early member of the influential ensemble La Bottine Souriante, Guy is a precious source of rare melodies collected from and shared with musicians he grew up admiring.  He has brought countless tunes that are now widely known and loved by fiddlers throughout the northeast and beyond. 

 

The Oasis of Music presents a midweek half-hour of music of many genres performed by area musicians at Trinity Church, 247 Bates St. Lewiston.  The recitals are always free, although donations are accepted.  For more information, call 344-3106.
