Robin Dow Seniors to meet
LEWISTON — Robin Dow Senior Citizens met at Schooner Estates on Oct. 25 for a Halloween party and luncheon. A costume contest was held and the winners were Dolores Danforth, Lucy Cowles and Pat Donohue.
There were 42 members present with two new members, Ronnie and Connie Berry. Attendance winners were Donna Brown and Carol Lepage; red tickets, Nancy Duprey, Evelyn Sawin and Sally Gagnon; white tickets, Don Fyfe, Evelyn Sawin and Bryan Adams; blue tickets, Merry Strout, Carmela Hewitt and Evelyn Sawin.
The next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 7, will be a Thanksgiving dinner at the Carriage House at a cost of $15 for members. The Christmas dinner will be at the Green Ladle for $12. A ticket is required for these events.

Buckfield meeting change
BUCKFIELD — Due to scheduling, the Buckfield Historical Society will meet at noon Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Buckfield Town Hall. The guest speaker will be Jean Hankins on “Persevering Records.” Everyone is welcome.
Veterans Day Passin Review
LEWISTON — A Pass in Review will be held for veterans on Veterans Day at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Lewiston Armory.
Refreshments will be served, and the public is welcome.

Cook off, corn hole tournament
MECHANIC FALLS — There will be a chili/chowder cook-off from 5 to 6 p.m. and a corn hole tournament beginning at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11, at the American Legion, 41 Elm St.
Cost is $15 for both the cook-off and tournament or $10 for the tournament only.
Center seeks volunteer companions
LEWISTON — The Center for Wisdom’s Women is seeking volunteer applicants for companions.
The companion role requires women to have a professional background in social work, teaching, nursing, chaplaincy or other related fields, and companions work with local women. The commitment is a half-day weekly.

Food pantry seeks donations
AUBURN — The High Street Congregational Church Food Pantry has ongoing needs for the following items: peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned past, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper.
Auburn United Methodist Church collects items for the pantry. Donations may be brought to 439 Park Ave.
