Pleiades, Orion constellation in view

PARIS — Twitchell Observatory’s Monthly Open Observatory Night will be from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, or Saturday, Dec. 2, on Hooper Ledge if skies are clear. 

The Pleiades and the Orion constellation with its nebula will be observed. 

The event is free and open to the public. Weather postponements will be posted online.

Storytellers Guild to meet 

FARMINGTON — The Western Order of Dedicated Storytellers Guild meets at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays at St. Joseph Parish, 133 Middle St.

Pine Tree Quilters Guild meeting 

NORWAY — The Pine Needles chapter of the state wide Pine Tree Quilters Guild meets from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays in the community room of the Norway Town Office, year around.

Both hand and machine quilters are welcome.

There is a schedule of optional activities such as occasional road trips, group projects and monthly trips out for lunch.

SeniorsPlus at Wilton library 

WILTON — SeniorsPlus will be at the Wilton Free Public Library the first Thursday of every month from 1 to 4 p.m. The organization will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families.
