Snowshoe Club plans party
RUMFORD — The Snowshoe Club will host a Christmas party Saturday, Dec. 2.
The social hour will be at 5 p.m. followed by the roast pork supper at 6 p.m. Noel & Don will provide music from 7 to 11 p.m.
The event is open to adults only. Tickets are $10 for members and $12 for guests. Tickets will include door prizes to be distributed by Santa.
Story hour at New Sharon library
NEW SHARON — Jim Ditzler Memorial Library will host Bee a Reader! Story Hour from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays, Dec. 7 and 21.
2018 dates include Jan. 4 and 18, 2018; Feb. 1 and 15; March 1, 15 and 29; April 12 and 26; and May 10 and 24.
There will be stories, crafts and snacks. Everyone is welcome.

Pearl Harbor remembrance Dec. 7
FARMINGTON — An annual Pearl Harbor remembrance will take place at noon on Thursday, Dec. 7, at Center Bridge.
Commander Gordon Webber of the James McKechnie Post 10881, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will speak about Paul Allen and the USS Indianapolis.
A wreath will be dropped from the bridge into the Sandy River.
The event is sponsored by Roderick Crosby Post No. 28, American Legion, and the VFW.
AMVETS Post 777 to meet
PARIS — AMVETS Post 777, which serves the Oxford Hills, holds monthly meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at the American Legion, 12 Church Street.
Meetings are open to all veterans.
