Farmington Rotary to meet
FARMINGTON — The Farmington Rotary meets at 7 a.m. Thursdays in the Olsen Student Center at the University of Maine at Farmington.
New members are welcome. Childcare is available.
Reindeer flying to Farmington hospital
FARMINGTON — The Franklin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary gift shop will host a holiday family event from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. Activities will take place in the Bass Room with the exception of visits with the live reindeer outside the building.
A sit down tea with Mrs. Claus will take place at 2:15 p.m. Those interested in attending this should purchase tickets before Friday, Dec. 8, at the gift shop at Franklin Memorial Hospital.
Also available during the event will be goodies from Mrs. Claus’ kitchen; a letters to Santa table; coloring, games and crafts, a Holly Boutique where visitors can buy gifts for less than $5; and visits with the reindeer. Mrs. Claus will read “Reindeer Wish” at 3:45 p.m.
Proceeds will benefit the FMH Auxiliary.

Library plans baking contest, party
RUMFORD — Rumford Public Library will host a 1940s themed holiday party from 3 to 6 pm. Tuesday, Dec. 12.
There will be activities and refreshments for adults and children.
Community members may bring their best homemade Christmas dessert by 4 p.m. for a chance to win the first RPL Christmas Baking Contest. First prize is $100; second, $50; and, third, $25.
All library events are free and open to the public.
Oxford County Republicans to meet
ANDOVER — The Oxford County Republicans will meet at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, at the First Congregational Church CEB.
The meeting will be a pot luck supper, and those attending should a dish. One of the GOP candidates for Governor will be the speaker.

Rumford, Mexico societies to celebrate
MEXICO — The Rumford Historical Society will meet with the Mexico Historical Society for the annual Christmas party at 5 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Calvin Lyons Room in the Mexico Town Hall.
Members and guests are asked to bring a favorite dish to share and a non-perishable donation for the local food pantries. Beverage and utensils will be provided.
The snow date is Monday, Dec. 18.
Pantry delivers Thanksgiving cheer
RANGELEY — The Rangeley Ecumenical Food Pantry, operated by the four churches in town, delivered some Thanksgiving cheer to many area residents on Nov. 20.
The deliveries consisted of 92 fruit trays and 55 food baskets. Recipients ranged from area seniors confronting health issues or lacking transportation, to town employees whose work keeps the town running throughout the year.
The Rangeley Ecumenical Food Pantry is located in the undercroft of the Church of the Good Shepherd at 2614 Main St. and is open from 10 a.m. to noon. on Tuesdays. Donations can be sent to Rangeley Ecumenical Food Pantry, care of the Church of the Good Shepherd, P.O. Box 156, Rangeley, ME 04970.
