Skelton Taintor & Abbott announces that Lewiston High School senior Matt Hird is the fifth annual recipient of the Skelton Taintor & Abbott Lewiston High School Mock Trial Team MVP Scholarship Award. He will receive a $1,000 college scholarship as the most valiant player. Hird is class president and a student representative to the Lewiston School Committee. He was a multiyear member of the high school mock trial team, which was a semifinalist in this year’s statewide competition. He hopes to study marketing at Bentley University in Merion, Pennsylvania, next fall. He is the son of Bill and Lisa Hird of Lewiston.
