BATH — Comedy is the cure for the common winter blues. On Saturday, Feb. 17, lifelong local, and arguably Maine’s funniest, down-home comedian Johnny Ater will anchor Ater & Friends Comedy Night in the Chocolate Church Arts Center Annex, located at 804 Washington St. Comedians Nellie Coes, Kevin Neales and Tuck Tucker will join Ater. Doors will open at 7 p.m for the 7:30 show.
Ater is one of Maine’s favorite stand-up comics, working hard and succeeding at his craft of making audiences laugh since 2003. One moment he is taking light-hearted swipes at himself and his fellow Mainers, and how not cool he is; and the next moment he is contorting his face in the most amazingly goofy ways that you can’t help but crack a smile at what a ham this guy is.
Nellie Coes is a stand-up comedian from Yarmouth. Kevin Neales is a stand-up comedian from Portland. He has performed at The Comedy Connection (Portland, Boston, Providence), The Comedy Studio (Boston), The Ice House (Los Angeles) and Mottley’s (Boston).
Tuck Tucker is one of the funniest and most dynamic comics to come out of New England in the last decade. Audiences enjoy his combination of verbal wit and physical comedy. Tuck loves to visit his growing up years in his brand of humor or shares all of his job experience previously working at a funeral home.
Seating is limited for this adult content show. Tickets are available by calling the box office at 207-442-8455 or online www.chocolatechurcharts.org.
