Wendell Davis, U.S. Small Business Administration and SBA New England regional administrator, and Amy Bassett, SBA district director for Maine, recently presented Scott and April Shanaman, owners of Lost Valley Ski Area, a commemorative sign celebrating the ski area’s success. The Shanamans purchased Lost Valley in 2015 and improved the lodge and lifts, added three new trails, two new ground lifts and the Maine Family Snow Tube Park. At the presentation were, from left, Bassett, Davis, the Shanamans, Jane Mickeriz from Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments, Ben Tucker from U.S. Sen. Angus King’s office; AVCOG Executive Director Amy Landry, Erin Doughty from U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin’s office; and Ryan Angelo from U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ office.
