AUBURN — Joint meeting between the City Council and School Committee, 5:30 p.m. at Auburn Hall. Agenda includes discussion on the 2018-19 budget and Capital Improvement Plan.
TUESDAY, March 27
AUBURN — “Teaching English in Poland,” 2-3 p.m., Auburn Public Library, a talk by educator Annette Vance Dorey who last fall taught English in a rural Polish village where students have no opportunities to hear English spoken.
LEWISTON — School Committee budget workshop, 6 p.m., Dingley Building, to review special education and English Language Learner programs.
LEWISTON — Open House: Passenger Rail, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Lewiston Public Library. Officials from Lewiston and Auburn, Maine Department of Transportation and the Northern New England Passenger Rail Authority will hear about a study underway to expand passenger rail service in Lewiston-Auburn. Free, open to public. Storm date: April 5.

THURSDAY, March 29
LEWISTON — Public meeting on proposed performing arts building at Lewiston High School, 6:30 p.m., Lewiston High School multi-purpose room. Architectural firm will show drawings of teacher spaces and possible design of the building, as well as new parking area at the high school.
FRIDAY, March 30
AUBURN — “Walk in the Park,” an opportunity for exercise and relaxation, 4:30 p.m. at the Knight House. The walk will go toward Sullivan Square via the Riverwalk, Festival Plaza, Bonney Park and the Art Walk. Refreshments provided at the end of the walk, sponsored by Auburn Parks and Recreation, part of National Take A Walk in the Park Day. Public welcome.
