Berkeley historian Thomas Laqueur will give the talk “‘Animals in the History of Crimes Against Humanity” at 7 p.m. Monday, April 2, at Bates College followed by a reception in Pettengill Hall, Room G52, 4 Andrews Road (Alumni Walk). A professor of history at the University of California, Berkeley, Laqueur specializes in the cultural history of the body, and in the history of humanitarianism and of popular religion and literacy.
