NORWAY — The Board of Selectmen will vote Thursday evening on whether to approve a $4.97 million municipal budget.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.
The 2018-19 spending plan is $98,387 more than this fiscal year, which ends June 30, Selectman Warren Sessions said Wednesday evening.
Town Manager Dennis Lajoie told selectmen last month that, overall, the amount to be raised by taxes would increase by $98,192, or 2.9 percent, if the budget is approved as proposed. He said the increase did not include the Oxford County government or School Administrative District 17 assessments.
Sessions said the Oxford County assessment is up $76,464 from this year to $438,761. The school assessment has not been determined, he said.
Other items on the agenda include:
• Request by the Parks and Recreation Department to close one lane of Water Street for the annual Norway Fishing Festival on June 2; and
• Invitation by the Parks and Recreation Department to the Don Butters Memorial games at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 24.
