SeniorsPlus office hours

FARMINGTON — The SeniorsPlus office will be open for scheduled appointments Wednesdays from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Walk-in hours are from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. and will be held on the second Thursday of every month.

Staff will be on hand to answer any questions or concerns about services and resources for older adults and adults with disabilities and their families. These services are free and open to the public.

Eagles to host Texas Hold’em

RUMFORD — Fraternal Order of Eagles host Texas Hold’em poker tournaments on the second Thursday of each month.

Doors will open at 4 p.m. Games will start at 6 p.m. There will be a $50 buy-in with a $5 high hand as well as a 50/50 raffle. The kitchen will be open from 4 to 6 p.m.

AARP chapter to hear speaker

The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will meet at noon Monday, May 14, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris. Lunch will be served at noon with quiche and fresh fruit salad to start the menu.

The cost is $8 and reservations are required by calling 207-744-9069 by Friday, May 11.

This is the “bring a friend to lunch” meeting with thoughts of encouraging new “friends.” Collections for the local food pantry as well as the book/puzzle swap will continue.

The program will be presented by Sally Harney of Winterbrook Farm, Oxford, where raising sheep and using their wool is a big part of the business.

Otisfield ATV club to hold raffle

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Trail Blazers ATV Club will hold a raffle for a Red Sox pullover valued at $80. 

Tickets are $5 each or three for $10, with 100 tickets available. All money raised will go to help maintain and improve the ATV trails.

Tickets can be purchased at Stetson’s Auto Repair, 258 Fore St., Oxford; Crooked River Heating & A/C, 5 Harrison Road, Norway; or post a message on the Facebook page.

Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club workshop

PARIS — An Oxford Hills Honey Bee Club workshop will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at the Oxford County Extension Center, 9 Olson Road, South Paris.

Weather permitting, beekeepers Ken and Jerry Record will demonstrate how to do an even split and will bring a queen castle for members to observe. Those attending should bring their veils.

Daughters of Isabella plan yard sale

JAY — St. Rose of Lima Circle 677, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, in the Parish Hall.

Plans are being made for the annual yard sale to be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 5. There will be a food table, white elephant tables, book sale and children’s toys. Members are in need of food for the food table, as well as items for the other tables.

On Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13, the Daughters will sell carnations to benefit the Maine Right to Life.

They are planning a calendar raffle during the month of June. There are many prizes. Members are asked to sell the calendars.

The off-year meeting will be held on Saturday, May 19, in Westbrook. Anyone interested in attending should contact the regent, Annette.
