Library offering technology clinic

MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library will host a free technology clinic from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 25, to offer technological assistance with devices like e-readers, laptops and cell phones, or specific programs such as Skype, Word or email.

Participants are encouraged to bring their device, or there are computers available in the library for use. The clinic is free and open to the public.

On Wednesday, May 23, the library will host the next Community Conversation, a meet-and-greet for locally elected representatives and candidates and the public to discuss issues of importance to the community.

All elected officials, as well as candidates, are invited to join the evening of community conversation. Refreshments will be available.

Adventure Camp starts in June

RUMFORD — The Greater Rumford Community Center will conduct an Adventure Camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday starting June 4 at 50 Congress St.

The camp will be run by Lealyn Burbank and Cassie Drouin. Parents must supply lunch and drinks. Healthy snacks will be offered. The camp will include a scheduled day of fun and activities for all ages and sports inside and outside the building.

There will be creative times with local exhibitioners, including magicians, game wardens, reptile handlers, music, cooking class, art classes, science guy and survival skills, as well as daily local hikes and trips to enjoy the outdoors. Library visits will also be scheduled on Wednesdays.

Cost will be $125 for the week; daily price, $30; for half days during the week, $80; daily price for half days, $20. Family discount is offered.

The camp is now offered from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and will be available for full days starting on June 4 and run through the summer.
