College planning workshop
WILTON — The Wilton CareerCenter, 865 U.S. Route 2E, will be holding a workshop, MEOC-101-Essentials of College Planning, from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 13.
This workshop introduces people to educational opportunities in general and MEOC services in particular. This interactive workshop touches on the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career and study skills. The financial aid portion of this workshop will provide an overview of financial basics and the completion of the Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
These workshops are at no cost to the public, but registration is required. All workshops begin promptly at listed times. Please call 1-800-281-3703 for workshop details and registration.

VFW Post to meet on June 6
PARIS — Members of Floyd A. Harlow Jr. Post 9787, VFW, will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the post home, 58 East Main St.
Harrison Historical Society to meet
HARRISON — The Harrison Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the old Maple Ridge one-room school house at the corner of Maple Ridge and Carsley Road.
After a discussion about the school, society members will continue to the museum to see a paper by Helen Chute on early teachers.

Book Cafe to meet
MEXICO — The Mexico Public Library Book Cafe, the adult reading group, will meet on the first Wednesday of each month from 5:45 to 7 p.m.
New members are always welcome.
Foothills annual meeting planned
WILTON — The Foothills Land Conservancy will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the Academy Hill School cafeteria.
Following a short business meeting, Dr. Ann Dorney will make a presentation, “For the Love of Birds.”
Dorney has been a family doctor in Skowhegan for 35 years, has served in the State Legislature, and works in the community on opiate addiction. Dorney currently serves as a trustee for Somerset Woods Trustees, a land trust in Skowhegan, and has led several vernal pool and bird walks over the years.
The public is invited to attend.
Lithuanian Heritage Club to meet
RUMFORD — The Lithuanian Heritage Club will meet at noon on Wednesday, June 6, at Sam’s Italian Shop on Route 2.
